I think he refers to the 40d17 version.

S/he must have misunderstood.

I was referring to the big release, not 40D17.

And I'm a guy :P

Well if df is your heroin the first serious bug brings you down. So lets say i get my happy time after the first Bugfix release :P .

Hehe some bugs i like to predict:

Zombys and skeletons lose bodyparts at any attacks because the holding tissues are to weak.

I wouldn't think that is neccesarily a bug. It MIGHT make defeating skeletons as easy to defeat as just swinging a club at them. There should be plenty of stuff underground in evil (or is it evil sphere oriented now?) biomes to keep us occupied.

What would be a bug is that wrestlers try to choke to death something that is already dead.

Just out of curiosity, how did you fix the annoying cat bug?

Well there was never really a reason for Skeletons to be so dangerous beyond that they are USUALLY excessively strong or armed with deadly weapons (as well as having no Organs)

So having Skeletons be rather easy combatants isn't that much of a stretch.

I wouldn't bet on 40d17 coming out tomorrow; if it does, it'll be incomplete.

There is a fair bit of missing functionality in the input system (well, key rebinding and saving, plus macros), and additionally I haven't been able to do the various tweaks that will no doubt be necessary to handle edge cases such as very slow framerates.

Question to Toady, or anyone who knows:

After all of the material, body structure and combat changes will dwarves still try to kill zombies by infinitely twisting a stuck weapon into a wound, trying to make them bleed to death? (which simply cannot happen for zombies)

I think there was a mention of stuck-in weapons having more effect in the wound. If you twist a stuck-in battleaxe, I expect you'd do some damage, and loosen the axe.

Beyond that, Toady hasn't said anything (that I could find) about new siege weapon types, although siege towers have come up several times.  He probably won't start planning new siege weapons until he gets to improved sieges (soon after this release), so I doubt there's much to say yet.  There's a Suggestions thread about new siege weapons -- it's a couple months old, but feel free to bump it and get the discussion going again.
Having heard that this time had me picturing a 3 wide gate we could build that had some automatic "everyone in before it closes" reaction to sieges that we could use for some self imposed difficulty as it would be simple for the siegers to try and ram that down rather than altering the fortressitude pathscape. Feels suspiciously like a half-idea though.
