Also, let's try to keep this civil. It isn't so much a question of what Dwarf Fortress canon says, but a question of what you picture the dwarves as.

More importantly, I need to know whether to draw female dwarfs as having beards in this thread:

 I think of them as short, stocky women of constant rage. Like that image from the viking section of Drawergeeks. Sure they may not have beards, but they are just as tough in every other way. Still, beards call for hilarious imagery, like that one image of a female warrior holding her baby in an armored wrap. Hilarity.

I picture them without beards. And if they do have to have beards, then they'd be short and stubby. I think they would just have longer/thicker hair.

According to the new Dwarf raws they don't have beards.  Thus, I go with canon.
