I'd love to figure out how to use this:
http://www.worldforge.org/

There may be a lot of promise in this, but It's very incomplete.

I wouldn't worry about Roma Victor. It has a cool concept that i really like but IMO it's a lot worse than Wurm. I think it has more potential, but it will never get there bc the devs don't really work on it that much and there's only like 50 people playing it at the most. Hardly an mmo.

Wow, what an improvement then. I love this thing more than any other computer I have used so far.

I'm interested in watching this thread. I, too, was interested in Wurm until one day, when I was sawing a piece of wood, I realised I could be outside sawing a real piece of wood. The hours I spent there for very little in return bugged me quite a lot, and I felt I was learning less and less each hour.

I'm quite surprised, given we coming into the second decade of the 21st century, that there aren't more games as per the OPs request.

It's because sawing a real piece of wood is hard. It's also because in Wurm you, contrary to popular belief, GET Something from your efforts. If you're in the idiot crowd saying "You don't get anything physical" then you're wrong. Make one plank of wood and you just made a series of holes in a disc.

This is why I stopped playing A Tale in the Desert (which is very Wurm-like).  I've spent a ton of time making bricks in that game.  It's fun, but you can't sculpt the landscape, which is kind of disappointing after playing Wurm.

Still, building a treehouse in the REAL WORLD beats all.

But then you suffer from the same problem you did in game. What does this treehouse achieve me?

Well duh. An actual treehouse. That's what you achieve. Maybe if one day you have children, please don't, they will play in it.

You can sit in it and read a book, and enjoy the breeze and the pine scent.  And if it has a roof, use it like an elevated gazebo in the rain.  And hide from rabid dogs if you're outside when they decide to charge.  And have tea with your significant other in it.  You can help keep in shape by building it, you can learn about carpentry which will help your ability to maintain your home, it'll give you a slight amount of experience if you decide to take up a building profession, and you might be able to make some cash building your neighbor one, too.  Just see if someone on Wurm or ATITD will give you a hundred bucks for building them a treehouse in-game.

Get Clonk Rage.
Clonk Endeavour may be free, but it's a futile effort to try anything at all without a numpad with it.
