The Dwarf entity default has no Progress Trigger tokens.

You need to add:

[PROGRESS_TRIGGER_POPULATION:1]
[PROGRESS_TRIGGER_PRODUCTION:1]
[PROGRESS_TRIGGER_TRADE:1]

To the Dwarven entity. Doing make it so they will only come when you meet requirements. Normally, they don't have these settings so they never show up.

:'( D'oh!  It could have been so simple, too, and I missed that detail completely!

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

Yeah, I figured it out when I was tinkering with Grey elves.

Sorry for the lengthy bump, but this seems like the most appropriate thread.

Will this mod allow dwarves to siege my goblin fortress?  And I would need to regen the world, correct?

All you need to do is add PROGRESS_TRIGGERs to the Dwarf civilization, as Hague noted. That's modification of an existing civ, so it won't require a regeneration.

(If you do use the mod, for whatever reason, then you'd need to regen, yeah.)

Regarding the two-trader deal, I've discovered what makes that tick as well. When you generate a world, any [CIV_PLAYABLE] civs get Liasons spawned for them. In order to play as a race that only has merchant nobility, take that tag off then put it on AFTER generation, and you'll only get Guild Representatives and such.

If you gen a civ with neither, you'll get neither.
