"Analysis: The 3D rendered graphics and underwater environment in Blush are gorgeous, the lighting is brilliant, and the music calm and soothing. In contrast, the gameplay, with its 4-minute window and the circling and swinging motions required with the mouse, is frenetic and addictive. Combined these qualities simultaneously give the game a relaxing vibe like Flow, and the frantic pace of a shooter game. The undersea world the designers have created is stunning and the lighting effects give it a surreal and compelling quality that really draws the player in.

However, a non-timed version is sorely needed for all of us casual gamers, since you are presently limited to just four minutes of play in arcade scoring style. It would be so very nice to be able to advance through the game in levels, and at your own pace, and to play for an extended period of time.

Blush started out at TIGJam, where it was called Squiddy, and in 8 weeks the developers from Flashbang Studios have made a gorgeous game that is a joy to play. The game design is so well done for such a short time frame, although they were developing the idea for quite some time before the 8 week production. Here is some behind the scenes footage of the game. The footage shows a zoomed-out view of the entire ocean (spoiler!), but viewing it will also help you get your bearings."

For 4 minutes? The Theme Hospital Demo was longer and was actually pretty cheap for a FULL GAME!!! *dun dun dun*

Note: I mean no offense. I am only giving the reason as to why I don't play the Demo of the Squid... Who steals eggs.

Serious gamers like me only play serious games about storyline.  :P

Confirming that games where you make your own story are better.  I don't play linear storyline games anymore, to be honest.

Egg Bites Squid!

Squid steals Egg.
Squid loses Egg.
Squid steals Egg back again.

For sale:  Egg shoes never worn.

A squid, an egg, and a rabbi walk into a bar.

Ask not what your Squid can do for your egg but what your egg can do for your Squid.

And as they both go under the Squid says to the Egg, "It's my nature."

Squid and Egg were always together.
Said Squid to Egg,
"I love summer weather,
So let's go to that beautiful sea,
Follow along,
Say you're with me!"

Anything that Squid would suggest to her
Egg would always think it was best for her.

So he'd get his Ford,
Holler:
"ALL ABOARD!
Gosh, I want to be:

By the sea, by the sea, by the beautiful sea!
Squid and Egg, Squid and Egg, oh how happy we'll be!
I love to be beside your side, beside the sea,
Beside the seaside, by the beautiful sea!

What thou wouldst Squidly that wouldst thou Eggily.
Wouldst not play Squid and yet wouldst wrongly Egg.

Then again, I consider Infinity to be overly ambitious, something that might easily spell it's downfall.

It's a casual arcade game where you try to get a highscore.  4 minutes is not the length of the game, it's the time you get to achieve your score.

If you want to get a higher score and want to see more stuff (you meet new enemies when you collect more eggs) you'll probably play it a few times because it's fun and the graphics are gorgeous for a browser game.  There's loads of great, fun games out there that only last a few minutes each round and still wrote gaming history. (Pong anyone?)

I noticed DF players are becoming more and more elitist and close-minded to anything that isn't DF or like DF.  It's kinda sad. :(  Not being able to enjoy a story someone else wrote is also a bit sad.  A lot of games have wonderful stories with a lot of atmosphere and emotion in them, something DF can't generate for you.  Unless you spend a lot of time writing it all out in detail, which basically makes you the writer of a linear story for others to read.

Anyways, I played Blush a few times and got a few high scores, though always as a guest.  The Sea dragons are gorgeous.  Easy getting lost, though, which makes exploring feel not worth it.

I love Blurst. That minotaur game is fantastic.

A lot of games have wonderful stories with a lot of atmosphere and emotion in them,

Unfortunately most games seem to have storylines that are 1 step above porn.

It's great when you get ones which are good but it's unfortunately far too uncommon.
