I glad somebody brought this thread back up. I got really bored one night about two weeks ago, copied the list of names from the source code, and set them all in alphabetical order. Then I started adding more names to the lists. I was wondering if this would be of any use to anybody who is currently working on LCS development. I have about 827 surnames, 345 male names, 345 female names, and 32 unisex names, although some of them are merely spelling variations (Alan/Allan, Vicky/Vicki, etc). They're written out in the # case:strcat(str,"Name");break; format that was in the source code, and they're set in alphabetical order. I don't know anything about programming (I was just copying what I saw in the source code), so I wouldn't know how to insert the names into the game myself, but if anybody who is involved with the source code is interested in taking the time to do so, I'd be more than happy to pass the list on to them.

Thanks for mimicking the formatting from the source code; that's undoubtedly the most time-consuming aspect of adding names to the code. I had some automated tricks to do a lot of the work, but it can still be a pain.

My GF had a friend from high school who named her kids Oranjello and Lemonjello. Also, I've heard census reports that brand naming your kids is on the rise, so lots of people are naming their kids Levi, BlackandDecker, and Maytag.

I like that idea. It's subtle but striking.

Thanks. I've edited your posts to put the lists in spoiler tags to limit the amount of scrolling people have to do when they read the thread. I hope you don't mind my doing so.

Not a problem. Should've thought to do it myself.
