Planning a comic.
« on: March 10, 2009, 09:58:40 am »

Had this one in the pipe line for sometime. Basically, I need you lot to help me come up with a small story arc. So far I have:

Mr Paper and his dog, and how they take on real world problems, such as obesity, child slavery (wait, maybe not that), invading aliens, and games obviously.

Here his is, Mr Paper and his dog Eraser.

I'm afraid it is lacking kick.

What it needs is something clever, without that, your missing one of the most essential things a webcomic requires.

But it is your first so don't get discouraged.

I wasnt saying it was horrible, but I didnt understand it.
That's because there wasn't a joke.

Literally. All that happens is the paper says he likes jokes, but sometimes "they just go too far." Next thing is him on his computer, apparently being bombarded by memes. Then, he just looks exasperated.

That's it.

On top of that, I have a strong bias against the facial expression that the paper displays in the last panel. The closed eyes, exasperation, growling, and calmly condescending attitude that it has comes off as extremely unlikable. The ORIGINAL CHARACTER DO NOT STEAL-esque copyright in the bottom just exacerbates things.

Do you honestly have a copyright?

Well, it was about internet memes, as in things that just wont fucking die. The screen part was a culmination of a few, This is madness, Imma chargin' mah lasor, chocolate rain, and ofcourse, Rick astleys Im never gonna give you up. This comic is just a possible happening of what they'll become, a ridiculous mess. I was talking through the character, Mr Paper, telling people that everyones (clever people) have generally had enough.

And no, i don't have copy right. Twas a joke, plus you cant make it out.

Yeah, you told people that everyone's had enough. Where's the joke? Why does Mr. Paper look like he thinks he's better than me?

Yeah, why isn't it supposed to be funny?

And again, why is Mr. Paper sitting there thinking he's better than 'all those idiot proles on the internet,' or whatever?

He reminds me of a thinner, taller spongebob with a computer.

EDIT: And aren't things copyrighted automatically under internation copyright law? I'm not entirely sure.
