Custom GFX
« on: March 12, 2009, 05:28:17 pm »

I was wondering, what are the limits of the custom sprite system? Can i assign sprites to anything or just creatures?
Thanks.

Just creatures.

The expanded custom graphics concept is a long-standing feature request, though.  I recommend voting for it in the eternal suggestions poll if you think it is important to you.  It is currently #13 in the list.  Toady is planning on tackling some of the top items in this list after the current in-development release is out, so don't doubt the impact that voting in the poll can have.

Oh no. Not really a big deal to ME. i am fine with normal ASCII  ;D.
I am working on a mod and was just wanting to make stuff look a little more appealing for people incapable of understanding the magnificence of ASCII.

Edit-

What about the standard GFX sheet? can I add more to that and assign numbers? or is there a limit.

There are a couple of un-used tiles in the default configuration. Check out Mike Mayday's grahpics pack, it extensively modifies the graphics. You should be able to learn all of the necessary tricks by looking at it.
