Worldgen experts, I have a question for you.
« on: March 13, 2009, 12:29:02 pm »

How would I make a highly volcanic world that still retains sedimentary layers?  Making volcanism 100 minimum and weighting the mesh size to only create 80-100 volcanism squares gives me all the magma I could want but all the layers are metamorphic =/

Also I want a bunch of cliffs to encourage more building space-- is the best way to do this to set the elevation x/y variance to 1600?

What worked well for me today (first time I tried it) is to up the number of river start points dramatically. That seems to be what's needed for sedimentary layers to form. I don't know how much it will help if you've upped the volcanism to the point where you have no sedimentary layers at all.
