Ok, I am speechless.

My wax worker/miner wanted to clean himself, so he stepped into my magma chute and started to clean himself USING MAGMA.

Is this a glitch, or is my fort just that dwarven?

If he didn't kill himslef, change his name to Badass, although I don't think cleaning actually puts the dorf doing the cleaning in contact with he liquid used to clean, in game-terms. It would sound like a minor glitch to me.

...He's cleaning, not cleaning himself. He's attempting to remove whatever contaminants or spilled fluids might be in the area. Like stones that have been melted into the magma that is currently flowing there.

I've had a dwarf clean magma before. I think it was a glitch. No idea what happened, there wasn't even any molten rock there.

It would work.

The heat at which magma forms is hot enough that it's kinda hard for ANYTHING to survive.

'Course, you'd have to have the ability to survive to benefit from bathing in magma. Which is probably why dragons do it a lot in fiction.
 
Either that or because it is SOOOOO COOOOOL.

The flowing magma touched him about 4 times and he is woundless.

I'm pretty sure he also survived being locked out during a siege.

And you know what? Despite the fact all of my miners are unburrowed, he has NEVER recieved a wound. Not even a bruise.
