ZOMG BREWMASTERS FTW KTHNXBYE

Seriously, what would a brewmaster add to the game? Other than provide precious alcohol

Wait what. That is all that is needed.

Slaves to Armok: God Of Blood / Chapter III: World of Dorfcrafts

An MMORPG where every server is eternally flooded with magma would not work well, IMO.

Well, when the giant outer ring-road in Ironforge is flooded with magma, and the griffons have gone mad from their injuries, all you can really do is look out through the second-story windows and drown your sorrows.  ;D

Also, can you imagine the AoE attacks?  Flaming booze-splosion, Whip Wine Whiplash, Sewer Brewer Cruor Dewar Skewer, Mug & Jug Slug... and then some.  Plus combat skills that double as tradeskills, and an awesome panda avatar.

You could sail the seas of magma upon great floating fortress-isles kept cool by vast cooling fins, seiging similar isles for an ever diminishing pool of resources that can not be sifted from the burning ocean. Fleets of these have been gathered as wandering nomad empires. The greatest elder-isles would be lifted from the fiery, sulfur-choked deep into the skies by terrible works of magic and contain great prizes of unimaginable value for any who can reach up and take them.

How would that not be awesome?

You'd only eventually run out of wood.  Plants only need muddy ground, which if you start your floating fortress properly you'll have some soil layers.  Booze only needs plants.  Anything made out of rock you can (painstakingly) extract out of the magma (collect raw obsidian, then turn that into whatever).

Even if you didn't have a soil layer you still have animals, which you can butcher for meat.  You can then trade some excess meet and *Obsidian Crafts* for some plants/booze.

Metals you might run out of, just due to the Melt Object command only giving back 30%.  But items never wear down anyway, and it might be possible to extract trace amounts of metals from the magma.

Wasn't that from back when we were sorting out potential solutions to if tunnelers and air flows were made? Or was that the boat thread?

You can just click on the link.  It was a thread about determining wind speeds before embarking, which evolved into discussing winds strong enough to blow dwarves around, which brought up an idea for attaching windmills to doors, to keep idiotic dwarves from wandering out into hurricanes, which Duke aptly commented on.

I recall it now. I do think we worked wind-powered boats in there which might've led to my confusion. Also, you can seriously just click those and go to the thread? You really do learn something every day.

They're one of the most... interesting heroes. Mostly because they breathe booze-fire on your enemies.
