metal using elves

pretty new to this modding thing but i am intrigued.  i don't know much yet but figuring things out one at a time.

so a simple thing to start off with.  how do i get elves to use metal objects?

Ive been thinking about that. I mean the elves tell you not to chop down trees, yet there they are, using wooden weapons. Also thier at peace with nature yet are selling animals. :l

On one of my forts, I was fighting an Elf during a raid before he killed a dwarf he had already badly hurt. He beat me, but since it was a wooden sword I only had nerve damage. I crawled away and survived. Also I locked some guy in his bedroom. And others in the panic room. The guys in the panic room were getting unhappy. I let them out to fight the Elves, one miner, no wreastling experience, killed most of the Elves. He toswsed them down a chasm till he fell down too :l We beat them though. My two gate gaurds ran to the other side of the map.

Remove the WOOD_PREF and add METAL_PREF.

Unfortunately, I don't think you can mod the metal to use elves. ;D

i am going to stick with it.  give the pointy ears a chance of curbing the onslaught.
