My sister went to UCSC.  She liked it a lot and now she's graduating from Santa Clara University Law.

The campus is really nice... but I don't know much about it.

It's college. You can always get or ignore both drugs and alcohol. Even at those religious-based schools, it's probably just harder and more expensive (for the drugs).

UCSB = University of Casual Sex and Beer. The entire UC system (and pretty much everyone else in the state) makes a mass pilgrimage to UCSB for Halloween. That's how intense the parties are. Their engineering department is pretty good.

UCSC has a 420 day that draws a minor pilgrimage. I have friends there that went from straightedge to stoner pretty much overnight. They mention drugs I've never heard about before, not that I knew much before. Also, campus is kinda ugly on the shittier ends. Center of campus looks great. 

UCSD cogsci major here. Don't come here unless you're a bio/chem major (we're pretty strong in cogsci, but you don't want to be a cogsci major). Are you coming as an undergrad?

No, he went to Yale and got a bachelor's in history. He later got an MBA from Harvard.

Bush was a legacy kid, whose dad graduated from Yale then gave them a lot of money. In all honesty, he isn't stupid, but he IS an idiot. He is intelligent, but he has a knack for screwing things up. He is a people person, but in many ways, being the president of the USA is an impersonal job. Plus, he gives horrible speeches.
