Easiest way of removing Accent?

without doing it the way wiki tell you. Isn't there a file you can download or something? It's not a emergency but get on my nerves, know what i mean

download and extract just the 'mod-accent' folder into your DF folder. (the rest is a graphics pack)

I don't think you can alter existing names with accents, modding will simply prevent new ones. if you want to be accent free, gen a new world with the modded language files in place.

nah man cuz i can see wierd symbols when i start the game so wierd, well guess i'll have to play like that

I'm pretty sure it works the opposite way. I went into the language files and looked for the name with a funky character (whichever side from the character was longer) and changed them to the unaccented character.
I only bother with levers since that's the only screwy accented character in my tileset.
The on and off levers are ¢ and ● in the language files.
