Population Cap Problems (Part 2)
« on: April 04, 2009, 05:22:43 pm »

Ok, So I set my population cap to 7, and having 7 people expected to not get any migrants.

Now, I'm getting one migrant every season. This is fine, but I'd stop it if I could.

ALSO: I'm being ambushed by hordes of goblins and rhesus macaques. My 7~9 dwarves are not very happy about fighting 12~15 Goblins/Macaques.

Luckily I embarked with 10 dogs, so a dogsplosion led to an early force of war dogs, 20~30 strong.

Any way I can make it so they won't attack me until I hit the normal ambush level of 60 dwarves?

Oh, well, would a 1000 stone worth obsidian tower generate that much cash?

Turning off invaders in your init file will do it.

Ambushes can arrive by the second year whether you're ready for them or not. Sieges are the ones that require a certain amount of dwarves to come, eighty in their case.

Oh, well, would a 1000 stone worth obsidian tower generate that much cash?

Yes, that would do it.

Oh well, Imma stick with the ambushers.

It's actually kinda funny to watch all eight of my untrained dwarves take on 15 or so goblins.

Of course the dogs do kinda balance things out a bit...

On another note... Drat, the ONE immigrant that came brought a cat. I know have a mating couple...

I totally missed this.

Didn't know you could turn off invaders.

Thanks.
