Alright, has anyone ever run into this scenario:

You're writing something, and you make a mistake, and you instinctively hit BACKSPACE to undo said mistake, and instead of undoing the mistake you GO BACK to the previous screen. Ala hitting the 'Back' button in the upper left corner of the browser.

This is very aggravating, I've lost QUITE a lot of work, all because of this 'feature'.

I'm running IE8 or something, how can I make my computer stop spontaneously ejecting me from my posts?

Firefox doesn't delete your work. I backspaced out of this post three times and its the same words I wrote 15 seconds ago. Change to firefox

Seriously man, try it - Firefox looks and controls very similar to IE. Just try portable version ( http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable ).

I think there is no form-saver for IE, but Firefox automatically saves most of them and there is a plugin for the rest.

So what? How would I work Firefox? Just download it and install? I have something like 40 favorites, would those transfer over to Firefox? or would I have to painstakingly transfer all of those to it?

I know that when I installed ubuntu because windows was having virus problems, it copied over internet stuff including them, but that may have been a linux feature not a firefox feature.

It has nothing to do with IE I think. I accidentally hit backscape many times also, while I am posting on these forums for example. I find myself on the previously viewed pages many times, but I  simply click on the "forward" button, and it takes me back to the page, on which I was before. The text -what I typed in already- appears ASAP. I have Vista x64 + IE.

Often this or something like it happens in some browsers because I accidentally hit "shift+backspace" or something like that.
