Umm firefox can go back with backspace, too... and I didnt know IE is supposed to do that trick while you're typing anyway. I HAVE to use IE for work (I tell them regularily to get their act together) and I can type and backspace all day long without ever going back in the browsing history.

Probably accidentally clicking outside the text box. I.e, if I wanted to go back and place my cursor after the B in "probably" I might miss, and then hit backspace, and go to the previous page.

I've never had a problem with using foward if I acidentally back my way out.

Backspace deletes the character to the left of the cursor, forwardspace would delete the one to the right (it's called "Delete").
