camera as web cam
« on: April 23, 2009, 10:02:08 pm »

Okay I got a camera that I managed to get hooked up and getting video feed from software that came with it but I was wondering if there was a webcam program I could use to test if the camera would work as a webcam (and possibly as a mic since my headset mic doesnt seem to work).

depends, google the camera name + "webcam".

Most newer digicams (be it photocams or vidcams) can be used as webcams, sometimes the ability is "hidden away" a bit, so the manufacturer can sell more accessoires, but basically it should work without anything that costs you money.

Older models tend to... not work, because they are just a bit too slow.

Its literally called digital camcorder, its from Polaroid. I'll get a picture of it with an older model of it that the rangefinder broke on. But whats a easy, free webcam program so I can test this?
