Prisoner(hanging upside-down as suggested) -> King?

I always thought goblin kings were demons, but just in case! A Goblin king who slayed a demon! (or if someone corrects me on goblin rulers then he can be transferred over to another noble position)

Thanks again for all the comments! Gives me encouragement to keep on truckin!

On a side note... does anyone know who actually made all those creature sprites that almost every graphics set uses for the animals and such? I cant seem to pin it down anywhere ><

Quick mock-up of some dwarven military doods...

Recruit -> Wrestler -> Swordsdwarf
Legendary -> Elite wrestler -> Elite swordsdwarf

Going to go for a more uniform look for the dwarven military since i really wanted the goblin warriors to look more like a mismatched horde. And i do want my legendary dwarfs to pretty much look like a stone wall :P

Cool how you're letting the distinction between normal soldiers and elites stay subtle.  The prisoner is great.  And those little totem poles (like the trader has) are adorable.

More boring military dwarves...

Axedwarf -> Hammerdwarf -> Macedwarf -> Speardwarf
Elite counterparts!

I really want to get a uniform regimented look to this dwarf army so I'm "trying" to keep them similar yet still diffirentiated, and hopefully the horned helmets and "EL OH EL MY AXE IS LIEK WAI BIGGER THAN YERS" thing going on.. i hope it works as planned ><

If possible, make the Elite Bowmen/Crossbowmen look like gods, because essentially they are

Maybe i should just give them lazerbeams for eyes?

Or Maybe they could just carry an A-bomb on their shoulders!

Either one would pretty much amount to a current elite crossbowman :P

Not sure how I feel about the elbow circled in yellow above for the macelord. It looks like some guy standing to our left is helping to hold that gigantic mace. The axelord is slightly strange for me too for the same reason.

Apologies if that is too critical. Just my honest opinion.  ;)

Not too critical at all, ill see what i can do about them. Maybe this is one case where giant weapons for elites don't really work as well. Goblins were skinnier and as such there was more room to work with without obscuring the character too much. It's "meant" to look like hes supporting the macehead with his other hand, but if i put it underneath it made his arm look WAY too long, and like you say, where it is now isn't really ideal either. Ill give those two a work over and see what i can do.

Is it that the axelord's axe is obscuring too much of him or just generally how he's holding it? Stupid fatty dwarves! :P

(Edit)

Ok, so i shrunk down the elites mace which may make him look a little better, and changed around a few pixels in the axelord to make his hands more visible. Tell me if you think it made them look any better. I could also just get rid of the supporting hand for the macelord now that its mot really necessary.. hmmm...

Also chucked in some more military i was working on :P

Reworked axelord -> Polearm dwarf -> Lasher -> Bowdwarf -> Crossbow dwarf
Reworked macelord -> Elite counterparts

(Edit: For great distractions!)

He's no goblin axe player.. but hey.. I think ill call him "The wary Axelord"?

Dear god your dwarves are great.  I think these are the best dwarves I've seen.  I can't wait!

imo, you fixed the axe issue completely.  What bugged me about the first one was the axe looked like it was floating in front of him.  Now you can see he's gripping it, it looks fine.

I liked the big mace better, though.  I'm too lazy to upload a screenshot but I saved the one you uploaded and covered just the glove part of his arm with magenta and it looked fine to me - no longer like he was supporting it, but just that the mace head blocked the view of his hand.

Keep up the good work!

edit:  because I'm bored.
