Blender is really easy and fast to use, but only once you have the hotkeys down.

I can confirm that. At first i was like "Woah, lots of buttons, what the ^#*& do they all do?? Where're the buttons for simple stuff?" The answers are "A lot" and "On your keyboard, or hidden in a menu".

Seriously, if you want to move something around, it's either the menu path "Object->Transform->Grab" or the "g" key.

Takes a little getting used to, but it's pretty smooth sailing from there on out. Check out its Wiki. I've got it bookmarked ;D

Is there any way to get a decent 3D grid snap?
I would like to be able to precisely create stuff but haven't seen a good grid...
