Minecraft - It has blocks.

It's a Java-based Infiniminer-like game. So far you can dig around, create 4 types of blocks and just build stuff.
The block types don't do anything special, besides grass tending to spread onto sunny dirt blocks. There's empty caves on the map, too.
I really like how smooth it runs for a Java applet, and that I don't need silly extra stuff to run it.
The future features, including multiplayer, also seem promising, such as survival mode where you have to eat and build, or fortress mode where two maps connect to each other to duke it out.

Just had a quick look and it does look interesting. Have to keep an eye on this and see how it develops.
Had a play around and made a quick construction.
Just tried digging down to reach the bottom of the world after having fallen off the edge earlier and fell into a cavern system that looks eerily similar to the screenshots toady posted up for the new underground cavern systems last month. Long winding passageways, larger caverns and changing heights.

I was JUST going to post this. I've been messing around a bit, and I'm probably going to recreate my fortress once you can save.

This is pretty damn awesome. Never could get infiniminer running, so this is very interesting to me. It seems to be avoiding some of the annoying bits of infiniminer, such as the bright, clashing red and blue blocks that seem to be standard for construction.
I'll be watching this closely.
Smitehappy:
It's a cool toy but are they adding anything else besides just changing the terrain? It's no fun building a totally awesome castle when you can't do anything with it.
