Been there for some time now, just havn't seen a forum post here about it. So here it is, Tribes 2. The game that inspired planetside (or they just stole alot of the tribes ideas) and is FREE. yes FREE. A massively awesome team tactical shooter, with jetpacks, lasers, rockets and jeeps.

I highly suggest a download. Noaw!

Thanks for reminding me!  I forgot to grab it last time.  Now I won't be so forgetful.

I just hope it won't end up like Tribes 1, where the only servers around are running crappy mods.

Interesting, even though it has been like this for years apparently, i have never heard about this, even though i have played the demo for vengence(a few years ago)

Only problem is, to play online you need a CD-key. Either buy the game or ask around and see if anyone has an unused account they can give you.

Unless that changed since i last played.

Yeah, you don't need a CD key anymore. It generates one for you, so you don't acctually have to buy the game to play online! It's a weird CD key generation, but really easy, you just have to follow the patch notes and all that, setting up an account is as simple as Pi(sic) and playing the tutorials can get you back into it easy times.

Yeah. I patched it up. The game just crashes. Probably not vista compatible.

It is compatible.

Compatability in Vista
For Windows Vista users, right click your Tribes 2 icon, and go to properties and under compatability check run as administrator. This should make Tribes 2 run on vista.

Also, I checked the game, and it runs on the TGE, so if anyone wants a mod, I could probably make one to do *anything*...

Why not add magma floods, and levers/floodgates/drawbridges(both retracting and raising of course)?
Well, maybe not magma, unless it is a generic layer, as fluid dynamics would reqire a makeshift system such as static lava cubes, advancing similar to infiniminer.
