40d11 graphics problem

I tried out 40d11 in hopes of increased FPS, and plugged in my usual graphics (Dystopian Rhetoric). However, while displaying furniture and other non-moving objects fine, it displayed dwarves and wildlife as garbled messes of random color. Anyone seen issues like this before?

You may want to convert the files into .png's.  They seem to work far better than .bmp's do with 40d11.
