That is exactly what I am referring to. As police officers are elected officals, they HAVE to try and complete their job or get kicked out by an electorate. This assumes that there won't be any ballot stuffing, criminal organizations bankrolling the police officers' election campagins, police officers ignoring parking violations to get more popular, etc.

If a police officer lets a criminal gets loose or escape, the people will get angry at him and will recall the officer and replace him with another officer.

Actually, most criminals are too minor for the general public to even know they exist, let alone that they actually eluded the police.

But, should one of those criminals accidentally get hurt or die due to police action or inaction, everyone is gonna know about the incident.

Personally, I'm not in favor of all police officers being elected officials, but some of the L+ policies are suppose to be a little extreme.  If we all looked at the L+ laws and said, "Gee, that really does sound ideal!", then the laws wouldn't be liberal enough.

Course, I do agree with about half of the L+ laws, mainly in areas where the Liberals agree to see everyone the same.

19 stuns from Tasers not excessive in Patrick Lee's death, jury says

Wow. This one takes the fucking cake. Why is the U.S.A. such a shithole where police officers get away with fucking tasering someone nineteen fucking times? I mean, is that guy made of some kind of extremely isolating material that nineteen times are required?

Three words: war on drugs.

That ain't the only problem, but it is the biggest. There's several very good articles out there about police forces becoming more and more ganglike as they fight for control of their turf against the drug gangs.

Well how about we all listen to it again?

Stop! You violated the law! Pay the court a fine or serve your sentence! Your stolen goods are now forfeit!
They come out of nowhere!

From "Rise of the Dragon":

Quote
NaPent Aerosol Personal Protection Device

This product was developed with the idea of providing "A safe and humane way of disabling an assailant." Theoretically, it is supposed to induce a state of extreme euphoria which renders the target incapable of any hostile actions.

In practice, all it did was make people comment on how nice the smell was.

I think I should make a news story about that in regards to pollution.
