Recently, I found a hidden stash of stones somewhere in a box. They are all very small, gemish-like, and I wonder if any of them are worth anything. I do not know if anyone out there knows anything about stones, but since this is bay12 there should be a few of you out there. Let's get stone-spotting!

I'm not a rock collector, but I don't think any of those are valuable.  It looks like someone's rock collection...the shimmering whitish one might be quartz.  Pretty but not expensive.

When I was in like Grade school or something I remember visiting a cave as a field trip they had like a huge container of stones like that they were selling really fucking cheap iirc. They are cool though.

That's what it looks like. Just the sort of polished stones you can find at most tourist caves.

Mind you, my collection of them really spruces up my cacti garden.

Yep, these stones are "worthless" indeed, but they are pretty at least.

Yeah, I was tidying up my cellar. Apparently, they must have been of my sister, but she forgot them when she moved out.

Not really, since these stones are small...those amethysts might be worth 10-15 dollars...maybe.

Carve one into a very tiny hatchcover. Because yeah, semiprecious stones that size are not very valuable.

It's hard to tell exactly what they are from that photograph, but treating it as a 7x4 grid (since I just noticed that picture is supposed to scroll):

1,2 looks like tigers eye
2,1 and 2,3 look like rose quartz, unless the pink is just my screen.
2,2 looks like plain quartz
2,4 smoky quartz
4,1 and 4,2 are almost definitely amethyst.
4,3 might be lace agate
5,1 looks like turquoise, but in the first pic it looks too green
3,2 and 3,4 look like aventurine to me but 3,4 might be rough jade
1,4  5,2 and 7,1 could be jasper but 6,3 definitely is
6,4 is obsidian

Hope this helps a bit. Google image search is your friend while you try to figure this out, as I said it's hard to say for sure since they're not all in focus in the pics.
