A producer may charge what ever they want for a product, that amount is usually chosen in relation to profit as charging to much will make people not want to buy it and vice verca.

Unless they are the Sole provider of a product that people need (such as food).

Thus steam can't be a monopoly as if prices increased, people would just stop buying thier games

*shrugs* i still think giving a 1-1 ratio on currency, when the exchange rate is nowhere near that is somewhat unfair upon the European customer... but then i never buy directly from steam, and only really use it when i' forced too (and even then grudgingly)

and yeah I'll agree on the account thing, my bro had his hacked and steam were as unhelpful as humanly possible

hense the fact I don't buy off steam but i'm in Britain so i'm used to our island and the continent getting the short end of the stick when it comes to gaming, unfortunately

Actually we in Britain get a pretty good deal off of steam. Whenever I see an interesting looking game on steam I'll make a note of it and check out the prices at the various game shops. In almost every case steam has been cheaper, sometimes massively so.

it is very nice when i can get games with more than five ponds off. unfortunately, my PC isnt that good though, so i cannot play some of the newer games. (has a lot of CPU tho, df runs awesome!)

I've seen Amazon.co.uk. Those guys have INSANELY low prices. Even on games. Give that a check.

And the provider has a 5-star rating.
