I am going to go off topic for a moment, avoiding the subject of pedophilia to address another bit Armok mentioned.
Personally I'm overly tolerant to a fault, I'm the kind that want to give apes equal rights and legalize paedophilia. Homophobia seems an alien and bizarre concept to me.
You may have heard something about Koko the Gorilla, who can speak in American Sign Language. Without a doubt, there is a thinking, feeling being behind the words she says, and the creative activities she partakes of. For instance, she had a toy balloon which she was told to pretend was a baby for the camera. Afterward, on her own time, she took it into her room, drew a face and a ton of fur on it in black marker to make it into a doll, and then showed it to her caretakers, signing that she was very pleased with how it came out.
On another occasion, she received "Animalia", an animal picture book, as a gift that she happily looked through. When asked to select a favorite picture for herself, she found a page with pictures of cats on it, kissed one of the cats, and signed the name of one of her late pet cats, to let them know it reminded her of her pet. She was then asked to find a picture she thought one of the other caretakers would like. She flipped through the book and paused on a few, eventually pointing to a page with an Alligator on it. The caretaker then came over to see the picture, and when he chuckled a bit, Koko thought he was laughing at her and covered her face, signing "un-attention" to ask them not to pay attention to her in her embarrassment.
Michael is another Gorilla, who was raised by the same group and taught Sign Language. They were originally hoping he would be Koko's mate, but he passed away at the age of 27.
This video speaks for itself. It's absolutely amazing stuff... it's honestly a wonder that anyone could doubt their personhood. It's equally awful that people kill and eat these obviously sentient beings.
