Tower-cap Raws

I'd like to have a tower-cap farm in my current fortress, but I didn't plan well and the fortress has no underground river/pond. Is it possible to alter the raws so that I can get tower-caps without finding a new site?

As far as I know it's not possible to get tower caps without an underground water source.
But you can mod elves to drop tower cap logs when they die!
Just add
--- Code: ---[ITEMCORPSE:WOOD:NO_SUBTYPE:WOOD:GIANT_SHROOM]
--- End code ---
to the elves' creature entry in /raw/objects/creature_standard.txt
(You can also do it with cats, but it's much funnier with elves.)

Note; if you do that with pets, you won't get the item from butchering, since butchering is hard-coded to produce bone, meat, skull, skin, and fat. You'd have to come up with an inventive way to kill the cat.
You could change the biome of the towercaps to an underground feature you do have, but that would require re-genning the world and hasn't been proven to work.
