The stat hard-cap?
« on: June 16, 2009, 06:27:22 pm »

The LCS wiki says that stats are hard-capped at 20. Then can anyone please explain...

The bug is fixed. I've brought this up a couple times. Basically charisma increases with age, but the check to stop it from going over 20 was flawed.

As I've pointed out before, there are text overlaps. In this one, as is often the case, the car text is too long.

Sooo... wut

So I'm to understand that there is in fact, a cap at 20, it just doesn't happen?

Intelligence also seems to be 21 in that screenshot.

Likewise, intelligence probably also increases with age, as would make sense. I think that health, agility and strength go down though, so geezers make good convincers but lousy fighters.

*grating noise from Shoruke's head*

So... there is a hard cap that applies to Base Stats plus Juice Modifier, but you can pass it by getting old? It's true that I have 2 other characters with 21 INT and they're both 45+...

But is that seriously it? You break the cap by being old?

Basically there was supposed to be a check to prevent the stat from increasing when it hits twenty, when a character reaches a certain age. However, the check was not implemented properly, and was since fixed in the unreleased source.

See this is the part that has been confusing me. I'll sum this up real quick.

-The is a cap at 20
-The cap didn't work because of a bug
-The bug was fixed
-The cap at 20 still doesn't work EVEN THOUGH IT WAS FIXED

Anyone care to explain how this works? It's really buggering me up how people say it's fixed and then go on to explain the way in which it's still buggered up.

Ah. two subliminal words make all the difference, thank you-

Do I really have to refer to you as "Skanky"? Regardless, thanks.

So I'm to understand that there is no actual limit in the current version? (just to be 100% clear)

There is a limit. That is, the only check the wasn't made right was for the gains made by aging, and you can only get so old before you die.

Consider yourself very lucky if you get 22 or 23 in any stat.
