Pack animals?

I recently had the thought that pack animals (horses, musk oxen, etc.) might be good to be able to tame for work on a fortress - for hauling wood or stone, especially.  It would simplify a lot of things if you could have a woodcutter take an ox around, and load it up with 5 logs or so before having to head back to the stockpile.  Same with masons, of course.

(This might have been suggested before - I'm pretty new to these forums - so my apologies if this is an old idea).
