"the One dimensional game"
Wow, a one dimensional game would be awesome.  It would be, like, a line of pixels.

It's be invisible actually... Well... Yea. Invisible. It's be a 'point' so to speak, but only in the fact that it would hold a point in the universe, but there would be no way to see it visibly.

Actually (assuming we're just talking about nomal geometry and not Einsteinian space-time), a one-dimensional object would not be a point, but a long line. It would be invisible though.

EDIT: O_O ninja'd... several times over

Lolz, epic fail.

From "Angroshs Kinder" Das schwarze Auge Zwergenhandbuch - (Angrosh Children, the dark eye, german pen&paper, dwarven handbook):
"Elves!? Their men dont wear beards, and their women bathe nacked to lure you into the water and drown you. Thank Angrosh they are as ugly as the day and all big and skinny."

Hmm... Thanks, now I wanna play that... If I weren't already working on a project, I'd try my hand at making it...

Here is an example of what a one-dimensionnal game can be.

If it was truly one- dimensional that line wouldn't have any width

You can have a one dimensional game with a 2 dimensional interface. Sort of like how the original doom was a 2-dimensional game with a 3-dimensional interface and DF is a 3-dimensional game with a 2-dimensional interface.

I've played 4d tic-tac-toe on a sheet of paper.
You needed to get 4 in a row though.
Makes the game easier to win (or lose).
Unfortunately, I'm the only one of my friends who can really comprehend how it works.

Isometric grid paper, anyone?

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

Nope, regular notebook paper.
Find the book Mathematical Puzzles and Diversions by Martin Gardner.
It has an entire chapter devoted to tic-tac-toe.

that sounds like the least likely book for me to ever pick up. I'm not mathematically inclined.

Shush, to stop the talk about one dimensional stuff, I have taken the time to illustrate a one dimensional line.

Here it is:

Weird. When I look at it I can see Euclid spinning in his grave.

I call it DORFAN GAEMS. Yes, I can talk in all caps. No, it's not yelling. Imagine a Billy Mays-type voice projection. Well, I'm gonna go name my Legendary Appraiser/Record Keeper/etc. dorf Billy Mays.

My nicknames for playing (so far):
Dorfin' it Up
Project Antfarm
Evil Genius Simulator
Carp Attack
The FUNhouse

But of course, the most common nickname given by anyone in my house (apparently not fans, even with my megaproject):
NOT AGAIN!
THAT DWARF GAME!
ENOUGH!

Meh, I tried to get them interested. Oh well. I'm instead told how to make use of it for my life (engineering and designing and such), oh those silly U's ::).

How about a 700 page tome entitled "The complete history of PI"? A guy I went to high school with was reading that for about a week. And they called ME a nerd.
