are there any other benefits of becoming a shaman?

Luckk:
Not from what I know of.  I think its just something that gives you a new skill whenever you go up in rank (or something I don't know) when you reach a certain level (which I think the first one is level five).  I think there are only two for each character though since each character can have only three skills.

Okay, so what kind of troops can I get with merits? If I can't get some of those awesome dragons, just buy me some samurai.

Luckk:
Currently, you can only get samurai.  But if I can find a badge for dragons, you would be able to use the badge and get dragon units.  The only way to get badge is through searching and the fact that Katt is the only one with enough Intelligence to search, it will take a while to find one.

Myroc:
I guess i only can get beasts, then?

In that case i'll save my merit, if possible.
