an very interesting articel, after some cross reading (wikipedia, other articeles about the t.gondii). i am somehow faszinated, actually this parasite is really some highend evolution.
to sumarize:
t.gondii only breeds in cat guts (with some sort of two gender breeding)
the result with is in the cat sh*t and needs two days on air to evole further
now this oozyste maybe get into some rats or birds or whatever
there it breeds in an asexual manner like normal bacteria (cell splitting thing)
also it alters the behaviour! while normal rats would avoid any place that smells like cat, one infected by the oozyste will actually seek cat urine... and thus get eaten by a cat
the cycle is closed.

the behaviour sideeffect seems to affect humans too, as shizophrenia seems to have some connection to the infection of the t.gondii

I don't care if hes purrs or not, that little bastard bites me and I still end up chasing him under the bed with a plant squirter .
