The thing you must know: I rolled 1 for the fishing pole (1 = extreme success).
yay! That means Areyar gains +2 IP for succesfulol action, right?
>I hereby name the snowy capped mountain, "Amurshin Istrath Nun*r" or: "Dirtbright the Jewel of Crevices".

Sorry for the wasted IP guys. :P

>consider shiney object on top of Amurshin...could it be a cluster of gems or maybe a steel weapon left by heroes of a past age?

>check under remaining rocks. worms? other mushrooms? create firepit from appropriately sized stones.

[our options: 1-stay here next to the stream awhile: create proper campsite. 2-head upstream towards Amurshin, where there is likely more dwarves and maybe a proper fortress. 3-Go downstream. voting?]

Well, since I wanted to plant seeds, I say stay here and live the life of a semi nomadic hermit.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

For now I agree with staying here, if only to test the rod and have a decent meal of cooked fish.
Need fire to do that though.
>look for flint amongst rocks. nah, don't have steel or iron to make sparks. We'll have to use friction.
>collect branches from trees for shelter, dry wood for fire and tinder(dry moss etc) for starting it.

(Ill wait and see for a few hour now.)

I to believe we should continue to be a hermit. However, I would like to head to the mountain one day to see what treasures it holds... Perhaps we should strive to create supplies here, where they are ample, and then head for Amurshin?

We already have a fishing pole, so if we follow the brook to its source we should not go hungry. And if my spear construction goes well, hopefully we can defend ourselves too.

And with a small farm for long term feeding (we don't want to get a thought about having fish all the time) everything should be set for a trip to the mountain with some mushrooms to come back to.

I only just entered so you can too. You have to tell us a dwarven joke though.

It says in the rules I can tell an anecdote or a joke.
My jokes utterly blow.
They literally explode in gore the moment they leave my mouth.
Well, if words could explode, they would.

No, you've got 1 IP for making a successful rod with a hard difficulty (seriously, an unskilled dwarf is not likely to make a tool out of plants and garbage) and additional 1 IP for the first tool ever. Kilowatt got a 1 IP before because he made the first crafted item, however it was not hard to do.

Let's try to avoid 3d-movement for now. I want you to expand west/east and down (because it will save a lot of time for me). You are allowed to travel to mountain etc., however I will draw the site only, and results. There's a meaning of the forest, mountain and plain to the right:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
However I will expand on this later. It's just hard to draw lower levels in isometric view. We'll see.

Now I'll work on the next step. Wait :).

P.S. mattie2009: "My jokes utterly blow." (+1 to blowgun rolls when in a good mood)

TURN 5

Urist Beardbridges has made a furrow in the ground where the boulder was. He picked up strange mushrooms; seeds and put them in the furrow. At first he wanted to water it with the river water, but he decided not to go close to the damned wet thing and just spit on it. Then he leveled the furrow.
A shiny idea brightened Urist's thoughts. He remembered something from his childhood, grabbed a branch from a tree and started to notch it with a sharp bone. After a few hours he managed to make an improvised crude spear with the stone he had. However the manipulations with the shirt made it a bit... raggy.
After a long search under heavy boulders (TI +1), Urist has managed to find two strange looking pale worms. He decided to put them in his pocket.
Urist remembered something about two clouds ramming each other and making a lightning, so he took two stones and hit one with another. A small spark appeared! Urist was happy to make a new invention. He started to look for moss, there was some under the boulders, however there were no branches so he had to torture some trees with his new "spear" to get some (the branches were quite high).

Urist has made a furrow and planted some seeds (+1 to growing)
Urist has made a crude spear (+1 to crafting)
Urist has got some branches using a tool (+1 to lumberjacking)
Urist has managed to arrange stones in some order for a campfire (+1 to masonry)

It's afternoon. The temperature is hot. The air is still. The sun is shining.

How many dwarves does it take to screw in a light bulb?

86. Two legendary miners to excavate a large room, one mason to build an iron floodgate and one peasant to pull the lever which closes the floodgate, traps in 82 immigrants and fills the room with magma.

Ah, a dwarven lightbulb.

Try to dig a hole to escape from the sun. Use a rock as a shovel.

Get some boughs to put over the hole entry. Try to sing while working. Or at least whistle.
