Aw crap I forgot, yeah eventually they confronted the Batterwitch directly and died.  Welp.
And yeah the shitty artifact gifs falling back to Earth makes a lot of sense.

Though Roxy's mom did have occult seer-like powers:

But beyond that the non-players don't seem to use classpect powers much if at all.

The Condesce can make one extra troll immortal, which is pretty Lifey a thing, and probably a bit too weird and arbitrary to be a "natural" caste ability.

Darkleer permanently used some sort of Voidy thing, probably involuntarily, that hid him even from Doc Scratch. At least that's how I interpreted some piece of Mindfang prose.

Mom was really good at sneaking around and appearing in places, but that was maybe just a generic parent power.

I'd say things point towards role-powers being genetic, but they need some sort of activation by playing SBURB to fully develop.

Unless they are applied in a passive state at birth in the ectobiological lab.

The Condescence was a player but also wasn't if I recall.  In the Prescratch Universe, the ancestors were the players. So the Condecence was a player sortabutnotsorta.

Mom is technically Roxy but technically not. It's weird.

Darkleer is the same as the Condescence.

Well, they're definitely not players.  I see what you mean that they're, in a sense, their trans-scratch selves...  But they're really separate characters.  Dave is not Dirk's Bro, they're just genetically identical.

But if Darkleer isn't Horus, and never played the game, how does he live under a void veil?  I can't remember where the heck I saw this, but I swear someone in-comic described the game's classpects as challenges tailored to each player.  Which almost suggests that the game doesn't grant them superpowers.  Maybe Dave didn't get his understanding of time from playing SBURB, he always had it (he did mix beats as a hobby).  The Alchemy just let him make the turntables to act on his existing power.  Likewise Dirk's weird soul-ripping ability and Aranea's sight-healing power would be things they always had the potential to do, the game just forced them to develop those powers more.

As Liber Celi pointed out, some of the Alternian troll ancestors exhibited powers or affinities similar to their Beforan genetic clones.  There are bits of evidence that the beta kids' ancestors did too:
Mom, Rogue of Void: As pointed out, appears from nowhere: http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002131
Bro, Prince of Heart: Overwhelm's Dave's personality at first.  Murder-porns puppets...
Nanna, Maid of Life:  Saves John's life by spawning a bed, lived with the Batterwitch (also Life-aligned?).  Only Beta kid ancestor who was brought back (except grandpa??).
Grandpa, Page of Hope:  I have no idea.  Page and Hope are weird.  I still don't know how he was hanging around on John's planet though.

So yeah, non-players are distinct from their scratch-clones, but they often exhibit the same affinities and powers as their identical clones.  They don't have titles, but if they DID play the game, they might get the same titles (or at least the same aspects).

Its established there are Prospit and Derse transportalizors underneath the elevator on the Frog Temple. Prospit and Derse both connect to the Incipiosphere. Presumably he could have assembled his ship piece by piece on Prospit.

He was dead, though.  Tavros helped Jade shoot him when she was 6.

Incipiosphere is outside of normal time. That's how WV could be leading a revolution on Skaia while, on Earth, he was building Can Town. On earth time, he was in the Incipiosphere before Jade killed him. And its implied that he KNEW that was going to happen right after he returned from dropping off John's Dad and Roxy's Mom on the Battlefield.

But... Isn't the game a race against the events on the battlefield?  Eventually the Black King wins and the players have to fight him before the meteors reach skaia.  The game's on a strict time limit.  I thought?

The battlefield, Derse, Prospit, Skaia and the planets are physical entities you can simply fly between.  How can they run on different times?

Incipisphere and Earth being on different times is not at all the same as Battlefield and Lands being on different times.

It makes Dave awesome, but it does make everything else confusing.
Dave needs to stop rejecting time travel once he comes back to life.

You know, I just realized...

Someone in this thread commented on how it wasn't fair that the mind-controlled kids' deaths were considered Just, because they couldn't control themselves. But if it didn't work that way, you could essentially make someone fully immortal by just mind-controlling them. If their actions aren't their own, they can't be judged as Heroic or Just and they would become invincible.

Considering that Caliborn's unconditional immortality is a Big Fucking Deal story-wise, it only makes sense that god-tier resurrection would work this way. It may not always be fair, but it prevents cheating.

So watching some significant crap recently made me realize that this Clockwork Majyyks are super fucking important and always have been. I didn't really think about it until Caliborn implied that LE was a result of that kind of thing, but then I watched Cascade and oh look at that Red Miles destroyed the Kids' universe and Clockwork Majyyks destroyed the Trolls'. Andrew Hussie in Act 6 Intermission 2 said that the Clockwork Majyyk gun that was used to kill Snowman is his "only vulnerability". Doc Scratch seems to be a source of it somehow, and oh my god Caliborn may not be Lord English directly.

It would be entirely thematically appropriate for Lord English to be just a puppet, heh. A jacked-up clockwork majyyk fusion of Doc Scratch, the Felt and Caliborn's general sense of hatred for all things, but a puppet nonetheless.
