Dragon shows up at a fortress.  Cue awesome soldiers on the walls scene.  Soldiers attack and get slaughtered wholesale, then the dragon steps on a pressure plate and a cat sized cage falls out of the ceiling capturing it.  Then the dragon is sold to the elves and the elven forest burns to the ground.

Did I perhaps go into too much detail?
