Damn you. I already played that game a million times! Why the hell am I watching a Lets Play about it? Why?!
Boatmurdered was a let's play, wasn't it?  And that's very fun to read even if you play DF a lot.

Sandboxes you can see another person play completely differently. Action games with levels and very few secrets can only really be played two ways: Well or horribly.

Unless said action game is, itself, horrible.  Then it can only be played one way - hilariously badly.

I was referencing Soul Blazer, but I see your point.

But yes, after several hours of reading every relevant TVtropes article, they start to loop back on eachother. You stumble upon boring ones, or ones one has read again. Happened to me, and now it's powers have been broken.

That's exactly what happened to me, I can't stand that place anymore...

Not specifically.  Yet.  There is the "TVTropes Will Ruin Your Life" article, but while it does reference the time-sink factor, it's actually about the equally real and insidious problem that TVTropes will destroy your ability to ever watch TV or a movie or read a book or play a videogame again without constantly deconstructing everything now that you know all the easy tricks of the trade.

I did this entirely without TVTropes.

Whenever somebody links to it, I go through and read all of it, and when I notice and interesting link I just open a new tab. After 2 or 3 pages, I have opened about 20 tabs and feel compelled to read them all.

At the Tvtropes will ruin your life page, this image can be found at the very bottom, which is supposed to be the average TvTropes session:

EDIT: I guess...

However! They don't allow hotlinking, so your image isn't showing up.

When I first found Tvtropes, I spent 8 hours straight reading it.

I was positive of the same thing, and then that Big No link brought my attention several tropes I've never read before.

I now have 8 tabs on my browser window.

...Help me...

I'm more of binge troper. I don't pour myself a drink but when someone offers to pour me one, I can't say no. That is just an analogy. Accepting drinks from strangers is like playing, Who has the iocane with Cary Elwes? he's always wins.
