I've been genning a lot of worlds lately looking for a particular sort of site (and having no luck) so I've run into some really good gods.  The coolest I've found so far is Kashi, a firefly god of a human civilization.  I'm too lazy to post the screenie I took, but it reads:  Kashi was most often depicted as a male firefly and was associated with nightmares, dreams, the night, the stars, the sky, the moon, misery and torture.  That's one badass firefly if you ask me.  I actually plan to use it in a story I write in the future.

Ah yes the god of stone stockpiles, long randomly generated names, and gods.

I supose if a dwarf is unhappy or hurt they might have a miscarriage. Perhaps we could experiment a bit.

use [.spoiler] to start one, and [./spoiler] to finish it.

Also, I like the cave lobster of caves and mountains..it's fitting.

What kind of statues are your masons making, that you think they have "maximum exposure"?

One of my dwarfs worshiped a female hoary marmot, goddess of jewels, minerals, metals, fire, volcanos, mountains and fortresses.

Fitting spheres, but seriously, a marmot? I'm disappointed.

But Marmots have the temper of a volcano, and take jewels and minerals...

Don't remember the name of the god, but I visited a temple in adventure mode called "The Cult of snacking" which worshipped children and babies. Mmmmm. Tasty tasty babies.

Gotta agree there. First death god I saw who looks like he was merciful. The rest are all torture, or deformity, or disease. Not that guy, he's about release from pain and consoling those left behind.

Also, I can't remember the name of my favorite... but I think he looked like a Dragon... and war was one of his aspects... OH YEAH! AND RAINBOWS! I thought it odd at the time o_O

You know I've never had a dwarf who worships Armok.........

I think that is because Armok is not in the default dwarf vocabulary, you can mod him in I believe... please correct me if I'm wrong, it was really late when I read that.

Armok always came off as an outsider-type god, an extrauniversal abomination who would do something like roof over the sky and then collapse it for its own nefarious (and bloody, obviously)purposes.

Armok even has the power to compel dwarves to pull levers that they by all rights should know would release a magma flood that would kill them and the entire fort.

What's worse is when it gets bored, and forces the dwarves to build a tremendous, often silly, construction that costs hundreds of thousands of dwarfbucks in materials, not to mention the epic loss of life that results.

Ast Solonnoglesh Milol Egståk "Ask Flagsavages the Messiah of Eviscerators"

Ask Flagsavages the Messiah of Eviscerators is a deity of the Fences of Stroking.  Ast most often takes the form of a female dwarf and is associated with chaos, war and fortresses.

Engraved on the floor is a well-designed image of a kobold and a carp.  The kobold is making a plaintive gesture.  The carp is laughing.
