Given that a lot of my illustrations deal with hand damages (breaking fingers the wrong way, crushing joints.. you get the idea), I'd
rather not. Apart from that, it's a start but to be honest, at some point in your "career" you're bound to realize that you
have to know how to draw a hand without seeing it.
Expanding on that idea though: use a mirror - waaaayyyy back (20 years, give or take a few) when I started I used to hold my left hand in whatever position as practice. It was well after I was past any major issues with hands that my teacher told me to use a mirror instead of trying to turn your own hand towards your face while at the same time drawing.
Oh hey, a new day - let's see what we can bring to bear today.
I forgot to use layers today, so I'm afraid you get to see my entire work process. That right foot still needs some work after I (not that I'm going to) clean up the lines some, but other than that I'm not seeing any glaring mistakes. Cheap way of not drawing hands, I suppose.
So as to not disappoint! A hand! A really quick sketch, because it's just a hand. But it's a hand, and that counts for something, right?
And with that I'm going downtown to buy myself a couple of new sketchbooks.
