Holy [carp], Fellow Modders! Custom Workshops!

Still, since you can assign any number of reactions to the new buildings, and reactions can now be given required skills (from among existing types), this should be quite versatile for allowing modders to turn almost any item(s) into almost any other item(s) in more thematic workshops, using raw items and materials or the hard-coded ones. There are some things like crafts, decorations and specific statues that couldn't currently be handled, but it is okay for now. You should be able to set their dimensions as you like (within reason) and set up the (non-animated) displays for them, as well as the blocking tiles, but I'm not 100% sure on the freedom with the dimensions as I haven't checked all the snags yet. If they have to be odd or squares for ease of implementation, that will also be okay for now.

Do you realize what this means?! No more using the smelter for custom reactions! Custom workshops! More modding freedom!

What will you guys be using this for?

Non-rectangular workshops could lead to some cool arrangements.  Also, an unused job could be renamed and given a workshop via the raws.  Hopefully the reaction format will be expanded, too.

Hm . . . I wonder if you could make a "joke" workshop that produces "joke" items, and requires the comedian skill.

Like what, an andesite whoopie cushion?
This sounds like yet again one of those things regarding DF modding that I won't ever learn properly and will just give up and let others come up with some funky ideas that I then blatantly use.

A ceramics workshop would work quite wonderfully and go perfectly with the kiln.

That said, I'm more eager to expand on the Alchemist's workshop with reactions using rare deep ores like Brimstone and Cobaltite, or the classic "Lead into Gold" alchemy.

Awesome, this solves yet another one of the problems related to that total conversion mod I was planning for the new version.

We can also control what tiles are used for workshops. For graphics mods, that means good things.

The real question is:  Will your borglers start creating artifact borgles, and if so, will we finally know how borgly our borgle is?

Workshops using things like ambushing skill are going to be very weird (if they work at all).  Perhaps we could create a swimming pool workshop to train swimming.

Ok: We now need to mod in pie throwing and tie its combat effectiveness to the Comedian skill.

Could this be used to modify existing workshops to specify a material when making an item?  So I could actually choose to make 10 microcline statues?
