So, I walked up the stairs and my little brother challenged me to a dance battle. I started humming the golden sun battle theme, then dance-shuffled across the room and twirled, hitting him lightly on the nose and he tripped backwards onto the couch. Fun times!

The Sims 4 is good! Performance is smooth, and the game is quirky and neat. Everything feels kind of new, which is the way it's supposed to feel, of course. There's not too much in the game that's old hat. That said, I miss all of the expansions of 3 (and 2, and 1), but there's a dozen expansions on the way, I'm sure.

Is borderline illegal in some countries.
Pretty sure I read somewhere, amusingly, that it is legal to download and use ROM images for emulation in Canada, but not to upload them. And that is is legal to upload them in the US, but not to download them.
I also found a website that does Emulation-In-Browser, and the only working copy of Dark Wizard I found that isn't hard copy (Why, why, why do parents sell the things we love?).

Speaking of which!
Today I was taking my break at work, someone at the table I was sitting at noticed my DS and asked if I play a lot of games. I could have been sarcastic and said "No, that's my blood monitor", but I said "Yeah, I love them. Have you ever heard of one called Dark Wizard?" So we were talking games, and his boyfriend(?) came and joined us, and he asked the newcomer about if he's heard of Dark Wizard, he said no, I said it was my favorite and Dwarf Fortress came second (Sorry, true, can't lie), and it turns out the second guy plays DF  :D! But he says he doesn't read the forums :(. So, so close to finding a fellow forumite IRL, but so far.
But found a DF fellow player IRL!

Is it most like 1, 2, or 3, out of those three? I don't think I like 3 at all, from my experience with it. I miss playing 1, and 2 got skipped by funding.

It's most like 2, though it's missing toddlers, pools and a few other things.

I can't play Sims 3 anymore because I don't want to subject my PC to that.

Thus far it is most like 2. There's no open world, which was the cause of most of the issues in 3. Honestly, the open world was a great idea that was horribly implemented. The routing in particular was a big issue, but one that is/was being fixed by the fans.

But you had to download ORIGIN, didn't you?
Yes, yes, Origin is bad. Whatever, I just set it to offline and block as much as I can in my firewall. I also turned off auto-updates and other whatnot.

It was planned to be always online, but they reworked it into a single-player game when Sim City got the reception that it did, thus why it's currently an even more gimped version of TS2 with a better emotion system.

Yeah, I know. The interface is quite a bit like the one from the Android game, which really sucked because it was basically Farmville with Sims. The biggest issue I have with the game: only 3 traits per Sim.

The game seems like framework for a microtransaction slogfest

POOLS! $5.99
TODDLERS! $7.99
THINGS THAT WERE IN SIMS 1! $79.99

"Microtransaction slogfest" and "AAA game" are mutually inclusive.

So are "AAA game" and "bad game", unfortunately.

Well, it depends on what you consider a triple-A game to be. If you call any game with a ton of money sunk into it a triple-A game, then it's quite possible. However, if you only call actually good games triple-A games, it's not.
