Probably a mediocre one. :P

Soft rock, though (mediocre soft rock? Undercooked rock? Runny rock?), probably verging on pop rock (damp firecracker rock?). Not my favourite genre, but still fun.

It'd actually be pretty okay, as far as I know. Might have issues other than the sound, though.

I don't think you can make drums with rocks, unless you somehow get elastic rocks.

You'd still use the normal coverings for the membrane, it's just the rest of it would be stone (which would definitely have an impact on how it sounds, yes). Stone string instruments still have regular strings, it's just the body/neck isn't made from the normal materials.

... alternately, I'm pretty sure there's solid percussion instruments out there. Rock maracas or somethin', I'unno.

I've been to that cave with the piano/organ whatever you call it and uses the pointy cave rocks whose name I forget.
