It was raining rather heavily this morning and I had to sprint across the parking lot to avoid getting wet when I arrived at work. This was not a successful endeavour.

I evidently dropped two pens, which is sad because one of them was give back to me by a colleague at my previous job and it was a real good pen, and then when I left work I realized I apparently also dropped my phone, somewhere in the parking lot, in a rainstorm.

Evidently some nice person handed it in to the service desk, and it has worked so far since then, so all’s well that ends well I guess.

To be fair I didn’t ask about the pen, but the phone and the pens were in different pockets, so probably fell out at different points.

I managed to get a very ancient microtek scanner (4800 USB) working with windows 7, 64bit.

I mangled up a 64bit driver inf (since the original driver inf does NOT call for any special binaries! Just the bog-standard windows libraries, with some magic numbers!), and it works fine with TWAIN acquire.

Considering how old the scanner is (early 2000s?), I find this both pleasing and funny.
