Clever satire certainly has its place. But there is nothing remotely clever or funny about a website that uses potential animal cruelty as the foundation for its satire, even if no kittens were actually harmed.

... that's just many levels of butthurt there. The basis of much widely praised comedy is in fact cruelty or tragedy. The comedy in bonsaikitten is in how surreal the concept is: it's the juxtaposition of the cruel/horrific with the banal which is where the comedy lies. A website just about ways to kill kittens wouldn't be funny.

Bonsai kittens is a Pythonesque concept. Really the only difference is the medium. If the bonsai kitten shop had been a Python sketch then everyone would be praising it, but someone makes a website and that's not acceptable.
