similar to Sichuan Bloody Mahjong (if you know what that is, congrats)
I got 2 Yakuman over the course of 4 games

I don't know much about mahjong but for my fellow illiterates, I think usually the interval between yakuman is measured in years. So, wild.

After reading this, I had a dream about playing Mahjong with bears

Some yakuman are more common than others. The most common ones are Daisangan, Kokushi Musou, Shousuushi, and Suuanko. These are the ones that have a realistic chance of popping up in any given game, and so you can never safely push them out of your mind.

Some yakuman are rare enough that, if you play the game your entire life, you might get them once. These are Tenhou, Chiihou, Ryuuiisou, and Chinrouto.

Some yakuman are so rare that they basically only exist as trivia, and I doubt most players have seen them, or will ever see them actually performed. These are Chuurenpouto and Suukantsu. Getting either of these naturally would be like winning the lottery ten times over.

There's more yakuman than that, but yeah, they're rare and awesome hands, each one comparable to a Royal Flush in poker. If you open up your starting hand, and see the chance at a rare yakuman, I'd consider it perfectly acceptable to abandon all defense and throw the game just to try to get it, just because it's so fucking glorious if you do actually manage to get it.

Any particular reason? It's not like its prospective userbase has shrunk over the years or somethin'.

I figured it just shrunk into irrelevance like most forums over the years as people got sucked into facebook and twitter etc. Seems pretty oldschool to still spend your time on a forum decorating pixel art when you've got rocket minecraft VR and unboxing videos on youtube.

This is a pre-wow MMO without hotbars.

I'm curious as to how a tank would evolve. Would it climb out of the primordial ooze wiggling it's track-nubs, feeding on smaller jeeps before crawling onto the shore having evolved proper treds?
My ship exploded midflight, but all the shrapnel totally landed on Alpha Centauri before anyone else did.  Bow before me world leaders!

We got invaded by Reddit once.

wait what happened and when was this

Raided a Nazi forum today with my friends. The spamming lasted for about a day (auto ban-evade spambots). It ended with the admin appointing a "loyal forum member" to help with banning the spambots and spamhumans while he is asleep. Unluckily (for him) it was a plant who was part of my raiding group and pretended to be a Nazi for a week before the raid to attempt to get his trust. It worked... and apparently admins on that forum had access to backups and could demote other admins.

So the plant (on my orders) banned the other admin, deleted the backups, closed down registration, deleted all threads, then banned everyone else and posted a single locked thread where he said that "Max The Unbannable and friends claim responsibility for the raid and takeover" and that it was "to troll up the forum and trigger fascists". Then the forum went down a few hours after. Mission accomplished!

They deserved it hehehe. I'm fairly sure this isn't against the guidelines to discuss.

i have always wanted to raid a forum
