Winter turning to spring is definitely improving things. The fuck anyone can be happy when they're freezing 24/8 and they saw daylight for 30 mins before it disappeared is madness to me.

There's so much happening now. Little leafs growing, birds building. I see them going back and forth with twigs. Pigeons are dancing, and flowers have begun to appear.

Is roommatefriend code for boyfriend or was there not meant to be an implication there?

Different places get different winters. Down here it's the only time of year the bugs stop trying to exsanguinate you, the air isn't attempting to broil you as you swim through it, and the sun isn't glaring through your window at five in the morning. Winter is the only good season in florida. The rest of them are variations of misery :P

Indeed! I'm glad that you've got such a close friend. They're fairly rare the older you get, I find.

I managed to clone a hard disk onto a smaller SSD, and it actually booted without issues. 1 down, 2 to go! Plus, I now have a shiny "new"* 1 TB hard drive to store stuff on.

*Considering how much Windows 10 thrashed the disk, forcing it to seek back and forth like mad to fetch data throughout its life, it's entirely possible it's at "Caution" by now. That can't be healthy for the drive. I'll need to test all the HDDs I have, actually. Not by running SMART, that can't test for bad sectors directly; it only counts the number of known bad sectors. dd if=/dev/urandom of=dev/foo bs=512, I think, is the correct Linux command to get the controller to find bad sectors by forcing writes to every sector? Is that tip still within date?

Tried adding more beans and onion to my chili con... veggie. Basically diluted down the vegemince with more "filler". Also doubled down on the tomatoes since I found last time there wasn't enough.

It's definitely nicer. A bit more seasoning and I think I'll have it down to pat, might try chucking in more garlic too. At the very least, I've got a LOT of leftovers so I can have it for tea the next few days.

Now imagine the gluttony to use that as "sauce" with a bunch of french fries :)  basically spaghetti bolognese but in delicious.
I just got over my depression, I'm not in the mood for killing myself via heart attack right now.

Having exchanged flirtatious messages for a while, I'm now going to be zoom calling a potential match. We've been sending videos and messages for.... half a year? but not met in person - or live video - before.

I find myself quite nervous. But in a good way I guess? I like her a great deal (in theory) and I'm just worried that, in practice, one of us will not like the other.

Mais c'est la vie et al.

Edit: Oh, also, I've learned to be smooth and charming and flirtatious over text. Again, the practical application oft-times eludes me.

Also also I just read over what I wrote and realised that reading medieval sources really does influence my writing if I do it directly after.

It's finally here! For anyone that likes reading manga, the mangaka Keisuke Itagaki will, in his series Baki, routinely release a chapter at the end of every American presidential election, where the new US President swears an oath of friendship to his own OC Yujiro Hanma, his self-styled strongest human in existence. He's done it for Bush, Obama, Trump, Hillary (he made both in advance depending on who won), and now Biden. It's so delightfully stupid and over-the-top.

Oh, I watched the netflix version of this.

It was delightfully ultraviolent.
