I did martial arts class this morning *_* I'm a lot better than I thought I was.

I should apply this thinking to the rest of my life and do a better job of pulling myself out of this tailspin...

What martial arts? I'm thinking of joining that type of thing when everything opens up. Wado Ryu has been suggested to me.

A rare enough one that mentioning the name of the school would be a significant step to de-anoning, unfortunately. But I'll be OK with saying that it's a Japanese system which teaches you to use a wide variety of different weapons (no hand-to-hand except in specific "you've just been disarmed" scenarios).

I'm also going to try to learn some Wing Chun when I move to the city where my university is actually physically located.

The pain will end.
I've had a molar (or mostly, the surrounding gums) aching me for 2 and a half weeks now. Dentist was on vacation.
But today they were open for business again, so I called first thing in the morning, and they agreed to see me right away.

I have one less molar now, which is slightly sad.
But happy that I no longer will need to eat paracetamol and ibuprofen like candy, and will get more than 6h of sleep.

For the next 3 hours though I will need to focus on not eating my tongue and my lips. Good stuff, that sedation.

A really stupid thing to be happy about: just being motivated enough to re-make a resume and start job searching again. Like, I'm feeling like that's the essence of being alive, just being concerned enough about your own welfare to try to keep living. I'm going through these job listing that are written in the typical, ambiguous corporate bullshit-ese that I'm so familiar with and hate so much, but I'm thinking "If I can slog through these without complaining, that proves that this is the most not-depressed I've ever been."

Fingers crossed, no jinxes.

I think it's an awesome thing to be happy about, JoshuaFH ...

I'm falling in love with Nina Simone <3 I'm crazy about her!

I told my boss I don't think I can continue doing full time for another month, because my meds aren't keeping me sane right, and he seemed to take it OK. He's still panicked about being so short staffed, but I can't help at all if I burn out entirely... health insurance kicks in in June anyway, so I can go to the doctor and therapist again. It's been like 18 months.

*presents remarkably inappropriate Shovel of Excessive Appreciation to vec*

... seriously though, while the name doesn't immediately ring a bell, checking the wiki entry suggests I've probably heard and appreciated her music before, so... have fun? Just don't go exhuming anything to give hugs.

Unless there's a different Nina Simone that's still alive that you're actually talking about, in which case, uh. Nevermind? Is there more than one of significant note? Beyond the spell on you singer et al?
