I have a puppy now. A fuzzy little black bean. Things are going better now.

His farts are horrid, though. Just awful.
Have you tried not inhaling them or not letting it get its ass near your face?

Sounds like a gasmask might be required.

Cat farts are worse.

I have been subjected to both cat and dog farts and I'll just say that a gasmask is the best way to keep from dying.

Had to improvise a lentil curry because we didn't have all the stuff for one. Given my limited food improv abilities, it's turned out really nice. More like a spicy lentil stew than a curry flavour-wise, but still nice. And filling.

"Use what you have" = grandmother's wisdom

And then 100 years later some dickhead will write a book saying they've copied grandmother's ancient traditional formula do not change, even though their own grandmother never made the same bowl twice. But nOw it'S aUtHEnTiC

My dad's been trying to follow recipes lately and it's kinda strange since he's the one who taught me to cook by instinct.  It's probably because we're usually using his insta-pot, which has some unintuitively short cook times.

We're still flexible enough to have fun with it though, and the results are great!  I love cooking with him a whole lot.  I used to take his methods and apply them to my own semi-vegetarian diet, but he subtly started planning light-meat meals for my visits.  I felt so good when I finally noticed and thanked him for that consideration <3

Yesterday we simply air-fried some steak (basically a fast convection oven which replaces the lid on the insta-pot) and I had a very small piece.  I think I understand the obsession with steak now.  I'm not hooked, but I get it.
Mainly I ate some leftover spicy yellow squash which they'd over-garlicked.  It was intense but *I* enjoy that, so the dish was perfect for me!  I suspect it was too much for most people :P

Mostly we had a nice day at the park for the Pokemon community day (Tyrannitar!) and watched some Jeff Beck performances in memorium.  Very pleasant day.  Oh and I helped with some hauling which felt good because I like being strong :D  My arms were getting noodly over the holidays but I think I've counteracted that.

Hearing about Rolan's happy times made me happy today

Also I've been nerding out over Homer lately, and it's a ton of fun. Gonna try and put together a weird take on Odyssey book 11 for my drama club... κατάβασις ftw :D

My sci-fi novel is about 25% done by now! Didn't think I'd make it this far.

That’s pretty good going. I was never very good at keeping up with writing.

That is an impressive achievement. Keep up the momentum, strike the iron when it's hot, and when it's cooled you beat the hell out of it anyways until the work is done >:D
