I helped demo a couple walls in a friend's house they're renovating. Felt pretty good swinging an axe through plaster and lathe walls and destroying everything except the studs, just going ape and smashing until you're too winded to smash any more. I'm tired, a little sore from the 4 hours of effort, and I did manage to bang my forehead on the lintel of an oddly small door. Turned, expected a 6 foot door, met a 5.5 foot door instead. Despite all that, I had a pretty good time.

It was nice of you to imitate walls for a few hours. I'm sure it helped your friend envision how to properly use the space.
(it was the first part I read, thought I'd share the humor)

I personally thought he was giving a demonstration of how walls worked for a slow friend until I read the context.

I now imagine someone running into the wall, to prove that they prevent movement. *bonk* *bonk*
"See, this is a pretty good wall here. Note how I am still in the room."

Destroying stuff is always a fun thing to do, I remember having a great time smashing the damaged floor in my house with a crowbar.

Fawlty Towers is going to return to the british television with a new series, starring John Cleese and his daughter.

I wonder what their first episode is going to be called.. 'Don't mention the woke' seems like a good candidate.

I'm looking forward to the Fawlty Towers reboot, but part of me is worried that it won't live up to what the original was.

Let me assure that you that the reboot definitely will not live up to the original.
Best to just enjoy the nostalgia while it lasts.

As somebody who have absolutely no idea what people think have aged poorly about the German episode I am still not looking forward to a sequel as it will inevitably not be sized for the foot prints of the original. Sequels rarely are, comedy sequels even rarlier

Birthday dinner over the weekend. The restaurant messed up a lot, but it was good to see a few people I haven't seen in a while.

They rescheduled our reservation without telling us, and a waitress dropped a tray on one of my friends. We didn’t get any replacements but got charged for the spilled food anyways.

I also didn't see anything wrong with the german episode, and you know what I realize now that it has no chance to live up to what the original was, but I can still hope it won't suck like a lot of comedy stuff they put out now.

The german episode is still brilliant.
Funny detail, 'don't mention the war' has been assimilated in it's original english form as part of the dutch language. It has been added to our national dictionary, the 'van Dale', as something you say when trying to dodge a touchy subject in friendly conversation.

Badger wrangler.
Misread that as beaver wrangler, and if that's not an amazing name for a porn star I don't know what is.
I mean, it can still be.

Badger is also a euphemism for vagina, so it's still a good porn star name

It's been a weirdly pleasant Valentine's Day to be single.

Like, all the hullaballoo these past couple days had me thinking about why I'm not seeing anyone at the moment... I eventually realized that I'm still content with the life I've chosen. Once that was settled I could just kinda enjoy today with the friends I have.

I'll probably be taking things a bit more seriously next year. For now, it feels good to just be a dude in undergrad.
