I don't think there's a Thanksgiving Season, but one holiday's season should not pass through another holiday. Or last two months.

Two and a half months, actually. Christmas season includes after-Christmas sales, belated Christmas presents, and those assholes who don't take their Christmas lights down for three weeks after the holiday is over. I recognize January 15 as the last day of Christmas season.

Also I don't see a problem with one holiday's season ignoring other, lesser holidays. Nobody complains about Halloween running over Columbus Day.

Yeah, screw Columbus Day; only federal employees give a shit about it. But Thanksgiving is a fine holiday about contentment, togetherness, and gluttony that doesn't deserve to be swept away in preparation of another holiday.

Folks could still stand to reign that shit in and keep the advertisements localized to a week or two before the actual event. I'll admit I get vaguely enraged when I see christmas decorations coming out, like, before halloween and crap.

The commercialization's getting a little bloody blatant, folks! We could do stand some more dignity, here, y'know?

I bought some books today, including How to Tell if Your Cat is Plotting to Kill You (WOO! The Oatmeal comics in book form!), and a big-ass collection of short science-fiction stories. And now I'm nomming on pasta with meat sauce.
